Vines have been cultivated on the Vignelaure estate for more than 2,000 years, but it was in the late 1960s that Château Vignelaure took its present form. Under the stewardship of Georges Brunet, previously owner of the third-growth Château La Lagune in Médoc, the estate quickly established a fine international reputation.
Vignelaure lies in the foothills of Mont Sainte-Victoire, 30 km north of Aix-en-Provence. The vineyard benefits from a late microclimate. |

The property, with nearly 150 acres of vineyards, sits high above sea level at 1,300 feet and is surrounded by hills. The main soil components are limestone and gravel mixed with clay and a base of cretaceous limestone. |
