CIVP/Provence Wine Council to be Exclusive Wine Sponsor at Opening Night Gala of “City of Lights, City of Angels” French Film Festival in Hollywood- Rosé wine producers from Provence return to Los Angeles after successful tastings for media, trade, and consumers in March -New York, NY, April 5, 2010 – The CIVP/Provence Wine Council, with 8 of its leading producers, will be the exclusive wine sponsor for the opening night VIP gala reception of the City of Lights, City of Angels (COLCOA) French film festival. The reception and film premiere will take place at The Directors Guild Theatre complex on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles on Monday, April 19. Each producer will collaborate with a notable Los Angeles chef whose dishes will be paired with a specific wine. Participating chefs include Sebastien Pfeiffer, Jean-Francois Meteigner, Michel Blanchet, Yvan Valentin, Akira Hirose, Laurent Quenioux, Andre Angles, Daniel Durfort, Francis Bey, and Josie LeBalch. The Provence Wine Council returns to Los Angeles as a COLCOA sponsor soon after its highly successful debut of the Côtes de Provence 2009 vintages. Tasting events in early March marked the first time a delegation from Côtes de Provence has introduced its distinctive rosés on the West Coast. “Vins de Provence is honored to be invited back to Los Angeles for this most prestigious French-American cultural event, and to be the exclusive wine sponsor of the opening night festivities,” said Francois Millo, director of CIVP/Provence Wine Council. “The wines that will be poured are representative of the vast number of exquisite rosés produced in Provence. Funded by the Franco-American Cultural Fund, it will open with the North American premiere of the romantic comedy Heartbreaker (L’Arnacoeur) on April 19 and will continue through April 25 with 32 feature films and 20 shorts.
