Domaine Houchart is a 220-acre family estate belonging to the Quiot family. It has been farmed since Roman times, when it is presumed to have been a villa, a patrician home of the period, some distance from the Via Aurelia road.
Out of concern for the environment, the owners have retained a number of copses containing umbrella pine, almond, and olive trees, along with broom and many species of aromatic plants, such as thyme and rosemary. |
