The history of Domaine Sainte-Marie dates back to the 18th century, when less than 25 acres were cultivated with vines. In 1884, a cholera epidemic struck the area. In recognition of the people's suffering, a statue of the virgin of Sainte-Marie was built, giving its name to the property. Several generations of vintners have since followed, all benefitting from the domaine's exceptional soil and producing wines of great quality. |
