Saint André de Figuière is a family business in which each member is a vital branch of the tree. At its head is Alain Combard, a passionate and exacting man who leaves nothing to chance. Combard was born in Salon de Provence and, after 22 years of winemaking in the region of Chablis, returned to his native soil to take over the vineyard of Saint André de Figuière - a magnificent estate with huge potential. The estate’s first white wines and well-structured reds soon gained critical acclaim. Combard quickly became convinced that Provence rosés deserved to be on a par with great white wines, a goal he has since achieved.
With a love of wine in their veins, Combard's children have followed in his footsteps. His son, François, has devoted himself to becoming the artistic technician of the vineyard. His eldest daughter, Delphine, now manages the estate's interests, and younger daughter Magali, a specialist in public relations, promotes the estate's wines in France and abroad. The family also produces high-quality, easy-drinking wines made from grapes sourced from other vineyards. Saint André de Figuière is ideally situated between the Mediterranean Sea and the Massif of the Maures, between Toulon and Saint-Tropez. The property covers 173 acres, 118 of which are planted with vines and surrounded by pine trees, cork oaks, strawberry trees, and eucalyptus. For over a quarter of a century, the estate has been using certified organic farming methods in the vineyard. When taking over the property, Combard made it a point of honor to respect the land he had acquired and keep it free of chemical products. |
