Château les Crostes, in the center of Provence, has been known for its cultivation of olives and vines since the Middle Ages. The buildings on the property today date to the 17th century. The extensive property has 545 acres of forest and 135 acres of continuous vineyards with exceptional stony-clay-limestone soil. For quality's sake, yields are held to about 40 hl per hectare. The domaine's wines are kept in ultra-modern stainless steel tanks with automatic temperature regulation, preserving the precious aromas. The automated, fully air-conditioned wine cellar accommodates selective handpicked batches of grapes held in small cases to prevent crushing. The grapes are pressed pneumatically, and the juice is allowed to flow downward without pumping. The cellar, dug into a hill to maintain a constant temperature, houses traditional oak casks. Thanks to these carefully chosen techniques and the practiced knowledge of our oenologist, the wines from Château les Crostes have earned many awards. Each year we strive to succeed by creating the very best flavors and aromas. |
