The 250-acre estate Escarelle vineyards lie at the heart of an extensive 2,500-acre estate, which has been preserved in its natural beauty with groves of pine and oak, fields of lavender and thyme, and underground colonies of wild truffles. The terraced vineyards, with their primitive stone embankments, are encircled by the gentle hills of the Var against a backdrop of the Loube mountains. The sweeping Provencal landscape bestows on Escarelle the blessings of exceptional sunshine and a mild Mediterranean climate. The vineyards are meticulously cultivated using chemical-free farming techniques, and yields are kept low to increase the wines' expression of the terroir. |
