Passion and know-how, quality and tradition. These are the principles that guide the making of red, rosé, and white wines at Château Barbeiranne. There, to the north of Hyères, in the hills between sea and sun, lies the Barbeiranne estate, with 85 acres of vineyards surrounded by 75 acres of pine and oak forests. The estate is run by Marie Noëlle Febvre, a trained vine grower and oenologist with a passion for wine and farms. With the purest respect for the soil and under the close supervision of experienced oenologists, the Côtes de Provence wines of Château Barbeiranne offer delicate bouquets, powerful aromas, and fruity flavors. Taking tenderness from the soil and power from the sun… Planted on terraced hillsides of the Massif des Maures, the vineyards feature several rocky plots of clay and limestone. The sun reigns from above as the Mediterranean Sea exhales its calming marine breath. Legend has it that the Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius Probus introduced Syrah vines to the region. Grenache and Cinsault vines were introduced later, giving heat and fruity flavor to Provence wines. Plantations of Mourvèdre, Ugni Blanc, Rolle (Vermentino) and Cabernet Sauvignon also came to enrich our regional wines. The grape harvests at Château Barbeiranne are exclusively manual, with a first sorting in the vineyard and a scrupulous selection process in the cellar. Only grapes of irreproachable quality are converted into wines. |
